How It Works

Our automated pipeline processes academic papers through several stages:

Source: We discover open-access papers from databases like OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, CrossRef, and DOAJ.
Analyze: AI reads the full paper and classifies it by document type (research paper, report, or textbook) and academic category.
Translate & Summarize: The AI generates a comprehensive bilingual summary including executive summary, methodology, key findings, a technical glossary, and further reading suggestions.
Quality Check: An automated completeness check ensures all required sections are present. Incomplete articles are automatically re-processed.
Publish: The final article is rendered as a bilingual HTML page and indexed for search.

Our Journey

January 2026

Project inception. Built the first version of the AI translation pipeline and processed the initial batch of research papers.

February 2026

Launched khmerresearch.com with 2,000+ papers across 12 categories. Added AI-powered semantic search using BigQuery vector embeddings.

March 2026

Grew to 3,800+ papers. Added community features (forum, Q&A, comments), automated academic snowball pipeline for continuous content growth, and comprehensive SEO optimization.

The Future

Expanding coverage to 10,000+ papers, adding user-contributed translations, building partnerships with Cambodian universities, and enabling researchers to request specific topics.

We believe in being transparent about our use of AI. All summaries and translations on KhmerResearch.com are generated by artificial intelligence (currently Google Gemini). While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or simplifications.

We strongly encourage readers to cross-reference with the original source papers, which are linked on every article page. Our content should be treated as a "first draft understanding" — a starting point for deeper research, not a replacement for reading the original work.
